Cassandra Petrova: -
The next morning, I woke up with sunlight falling on my eyes, making me groan and turn around—well, at least that’s what I tried when I felt resistance and pain in my wrist.
“What the hell?” I murmured, opening my eyes in a hurry, and went still to find myself naked in an unfamiliar room, with my wrist handcuffed to the bed.
Bile rose up to my throat, and I worked hard to yank at the cuffs, cold metal biting into my wrist. A wave of anger followed that, then panic as the memories from last night flashed in front of my eyes while I struggled to free myself and looked around for the key.
“Eliseo!” My voice rang through the vast bedroom. The room was opulent, with deep shades of gray and black, and the chandelier hung from the overhead. I could smell the expensive cologne, leather, and something about him that was uniquely his.
Instantly, the door creaked open, and there he stood – Eliseo Leone, wearing nothing but a pair of loose-fitting sweatpants and his muscular torso on display.
A smirk played on his lips as he leaned his arms across his chest against the door frame.
“Good morning, Cara Mia.” His voice was husky and amused, just like last night.
“Why the hell am I handcuffed?” I jerked at the restraints once more while I snapped. My head hurt from the tequila, but I refused to pay it any mind, my aim set on the man who had chained me to his bed.
He put his smirk into gear as he walked towards me, taking his time. Just when I thought he was reaching for me, he didn’t. Instead, he stopped by the chair where my bag and dress were lying on the floor and took out a gun and a small blade from it.
“So, you don’t try to run when you wake up without answering a few of my questions, Diavoletta Mia.” He spoke, throwing my weapons on the bed in front of me. “Would you mind answering me about that, Cassandra Carter?”
I gasped when he called me by my name, as I hadn’t told him; then how?
“Now, who is acting as the dumb one, Cara Mia?” Eliseo asked, approaching closer as I gulped and tried to hide my naked body with the sheet using one hand since the other one was still handcuffed to the bed, and mentally grinned at the same time. He might have gotten my name, but not the last name correct.
“To answer your unasked question. I went through your things and found your ID when you were asleep after I wore you off by making you scream my name multiple times as I made you come with my mouth, tongue, fingers, and my monstrous d**k, as you called it last night.”
I blushed at our naked memories from the last night but refused to give in. I knew what game he was trying to play and refused to fall for it.
“Uncuff me right now, Eliseo, or I am not answering a damn thing,” I ordered with gritted teeth. “You can’t cuff me to the bed against my own will unless you are trying to hold me captive.”
“Maybe I am.” He answered with an annoying grin as he seductively ran his fingers on my collarbone, making my body tremble with his hot touch.
“Who the f**k are you really, Eliseo?” I demand. “Let me go right now, or I swear I am going to kill you.”
“Trust me, Diavoletta Mia, you won’t have this same attitude when you realize who I am. Instead, you would be trembling with fear, not desire, like you are doing right now with just my mere touch.” He brought his face closer to mine as he spoke those words in a dangerously low voice. “Now, answer me about those weapons.”
“Go f**k yourself.” I spat. “Like I said, I am not answering a damn thing, and second of all, I am not afraid of anyone or anything. Especially you. And last but not least, you better decide what you want to call me, zasranets (asshole), Cara Mia, or Diavoletta Mia because you f*****g look confused. Or better don’t call me that at all and let me go.”
Just before he can open his mouth to respond, the door to his room bursts open, and a man looking worried with a pale expression speaks.
“Young Don, you are summoned to the mansion right now. It’s an emergency.” He announced. Eliseo went still after hearing the urgency in his guard’s tone, while I went still when I realized what the man addressed him as. Young Don? Eliseo Leone.
Wait…no…no, could this…could this mean I slept with the member….no, not just the member but the next in line to the throne, Eliseo Leone, the son of Don Aurelio Leone? The same Leone Mafioso family, mine family is rival with? f**k me, what did I do?
And now. Now, there is no way Eliseo can find out about my real identity, or he will kill me. I need to get out of here. Right now. But how when I am tied to the bed.
I glanced at Eliseo, whose playful expression with a smirk on his face was replaced by worry and pure terror. Something really bad must have happened to make him look like this. The man exchanged words in Italian, thinking I didn’t understand the Italian language, but I did.
But at that moment, I wasn’t paying attention to them, as my mind was trying to devise a plan to get out of there before he found out who I really was. Just when I was lost in my thoughts, Eliseo approached and grabbed me by my chin as he spoke.
“Don’t you dare try to do anything stupid or act clever, or you won’t like the consequences, Cara Mia. You aren’t going anywhere unless you answer my questions.” His voice was threatening, and I know I shouldn’t have uttered any words, but I did.
“Define stupid, my sexy lover.” I murmured seductively, running my finger on his cheek, “And, it’s not like I can run away with my handcuffed to your f*****g bed. Now, could I?”
“Stop testing my patience, Cassandra, or you really won’t like the consequences.” With that, he stormed out of the room with his guard, taking my weapons along with him. f**k, now what am I going to do?
Several maids arrived an hour later, wheeling the trolley filled with fresh breakfast. The fresh aroma of the breakfast hit my nostrils and I almost moaned when something popped into my mind and hoped it would work out.
“Hey, by any chance, would one of you have got the keys to the handcuff? I really need to pee, or my bladder might burst out right over here on the bed.” I asked and looked at the maids exchanging glances with one another.
One of them went out and returned with a brute man who was glaring at me, daring me to do anything, or he would snap my neck. Well, not before I would if he knew who I really am. The brute talked over his cell phone to Eliseo in Italian, but this time, I paid attention, and before I knew it, I was getting uncuffed.
The instant my hands were free, I wasted no time. Spinning around, I sprang into action, tying the sheets around me as best as possible and securing them before facing the brute. Though slow, he was tall, broad, and built like a tank.
But my father had trained me for such moments, and at this moment, I felt nothing but gratitude towards him.
I made a swift, well-aimed kick at his knee, knocking him off balance. But I ducked under this grappler and twisted his arm behind his back, using his own strength against him. I shoved him forward, and he grunted, a sharp, painful grunt that left his lips; he slid his face off the bed and crashed into the side of it.
I grabbed the lamp from the nightstand and smashed it against the brute’s head, and the maids screamed and backed away from me, clutching each other. The beast was knocked out instantly, with blood flowing down his head.
The faces of the maids were pale with shock, and I turned to them. “Which way is the exit?” I demanded.
They feared Eliseo more than they did me, and it took them a moment to react, but I didn’t have time for this. Firm but not cruel, I grabbed her by the wrist. “Tell me. Now.”
She poked towards the hallway with a weak hand.
“The staircase down… But there are guards—”.
I didn’t wait for her to come to the end. My bare feet were silent on the expensive floor, and I fled the room. I ran down the hallways, quickly turning the corners and dodging the feel of whoever was after me.
My pulse pounded with adrenaline; all I knew was that I needed to get out of there and think about everything else later. I wasn’t afraid of Eliseo, to be honest. I was more scared of my father and what he would do when he found out I slept with the enemy and, much worse, loved every moment of it.
As I reached the top of the stairs, I heard footsteps, several of them approaching from below fast.
“s**t. Now, what do I do?”
I murmured to myself when I saw the window and gulped as I thought about jumping out of there. I know it was crazy, but it was my only chance of survival from Eliseo, but only if I survived this fall, and without thinking, I jumped out of there and heard the men shout from the window where I jumped from and waited for the impact to the ground.
“Noooo!!”
