"Rose?" She looked up from her notes and over at her desk neighbor, who was smiling and blushing faintly, biting her lower lip with an excited expression. "The new guy is literally devouring you with his eyes, I swear," she whispered behind her hand. "Even the crumbs!" She glanced back. Indeed. Seated at the very last desk in the classroom, the young man wasn't even trying to hide his long stare in her direction. Their eyes met, and she smiled. He didn't flinch, as if his dark eyes just couldn't shift away from her. She wasn't the only one looking back at him.
