“She’s really happy there. I don’t want you to do it anymore.” Selena’s voice was firm, but filled with a hint of guilt.
I scoffed. “What?”
She ran a hand through her hair. “I shouldn’t have even agreed in the first place…..I made a mistake. Please, just let her be.” Her voice was barely above a whisper.
I was desperate to do anything to get Zoey back so I had to go to her best friend for help. Fortunately enough, she wanted the same thing as me — being Zoey back home.
