Chapter 1

1123 Words
Asher's POV She woke up. She woke up. She woke up. Doctor Steph told me that she woke up. She woke up. I am running to the hospital and not just me but the entire population of The Crimson Moon Pack is running towards the hospital. But still, they make way for me because I am the one who is actually rushing. But the band on my wrist makes noise indicating my baby needs me. Even though my mom is always available, sometimes my baby still needs me. Sometimes it's just a false alarm when my daughter accidentally presses the button just above the crib. Either way, I run to the pack house when I am halfway to the pack hospital. My mom is nowhere to be seen in the house but Lamar is here. He sometimes takes care of my baby because he has no rank and no job in the pack. At first he was good with the baby, but now I have questions. "Where is she?" I ask him and his eyes go wide, realizing there is a baby he is supposed to take care of. I rush to the nursery room to see her crying as she is tightly holding the bars of the wooden crib. "Oh My God! I am sorry. I am so sorry" I repeatedly apologize to her as I take her into my arms. I kiss the top of her head and both her cheeks. "Dadda is never leaving you alone again. I am sorry" I whisper again as I rock her in my arms. Lamar rushes to the room with a bottle in his hands. I snatch that formula from him and check it twice just to make sure he did it right this time. Once I made sure, only then I gave it to my baby. "I am sorry, Alpha" he whispers and I am resisting myself not to punch him right now. Because I really want to. My baby is in my arms so I cannot do that at the moment. "Lamar," I call him and he looks at me. "Do me a favor and get out. Never come back again. Because if you do, you'll see the other side of me that I've been trying to suppress for so long" I say and without another word, he leaves the room. I rock my baby back and forth again until she stops crying. She drank the milk in one go and she looks like she needs more. But mom told me that kids usually do that because of the lack of mother's breastfeed. I don't know if it's a myth or not. But I'd like to think that it is. Right when I am about to rock her again so she can sleep, I smile and shake my head. I am supposed to be going to the hospital. I am supposed to be showing my baby to her. "You are finally going to meet her today, sweetie" I say and my baby smiles even though she has absolutely no idea on what I am talking about. The entire pack gives me way as I move forward. I can see the hospital but it seems distant somehow. Maybe it's because I cannot believe that she woke up weeks after she was in a coma. I don't know what to talk about. I don't know what to say. I was a mess and even grew a stubble days ago, but then shaved because of my daughter. At this point I would do anything for her. I reached the hospital. Ivan, Lucia and little Roger are already there, waiting for me. Roger is Ivan and Lucia's kid. He is not a silent kid like my daughter. He cries more than any other baby sometimes. These two have only a few days of age difference. I hope they grow up to be best friends. "Alpha Asher" Doctor Steph bows to me and I just nod. "There is a little surprise" she says with a wide smile and I nod again. I wish I could return her smile but sometimes it feels like I might have forgotten how to smile. "Only a few people are allowed inside. Beta Ivan and Lucia wanted you to be the first one to see her. We've been waiting" she says and I look at Ivan and Lucia. They are smiling and that concludes they know something already. Alright. Fine. I really could use a little good news right now. Doctor Steph walks in first and I take a couple of deep breaths before walking in. And it takes me another minute to finally see her. "I'll leave you to it now. Everyone. Out" Doctor Steph says and every single person in the room walks out. The silence is now louder than any other silence I have been hearing recently. "Oh My God. You are actually awake" I whisper and my eyesight gets blurry. Wow. And now I am crying. "Asher.." she whispers and that is all I need to know. I walk faster towards her and pull her closer to me. We both cry together. I have my baby in one arm. Another hand patting her head while she is crying, holding my stomach. Life couldn't be better now. It is finally on track. My life is slowly coming back on track. "Is she your daughter?" She asks and I nod with a smile, as I show my daughter to her. "She is so pretty. What did you name her?" She asks me again and I shake my head. Call me an asshole but I still did not name my baby girl. "Asher. Why?" She asks again and I shrug. Yes. I became a man of limited words. I simply chose to be so. "Now are you ready to meet my daughter?" She asks and my heart skips a beat. What? It is then I realize that she was pregnant while she was in a coma. Doctors said that recently it has become a frequent and casual case in the human world. Now she delivered the baby? I follow her gaze to her right and I see a crib. But the baby is sleeping peacefully. How come I did not have a whiff of scent? Maybe my wolf is sleeping or I did not pay attention. "Wow. She looks just like him" I say as I look at her. I didn't want to disturb her. She looks peaceful while sleeping. "I am sorry," she says with a frown but I only shake my head. "I am not" I say, making her look at me in confusion. "I am not sorry,"I pause and hold her hand again,"because now I have you, Sienna"
