I had to keep reminding myself to focus on the task at hand. Being in the small space of the car with Freddie the entire day was a little overwhelming. The scent of his aftershave hung in the air and I wondered why I didn’t notice it before. I rolled my eyes at my own thoughts! I didn’t notice because I hadn’t slept with him yet! This was going to be a lot tougher than I realized!
“Have you thought about specializing in something yet or do you feel that staying on the beat is enough for you?” His voice interrupted my disturbing thoughts and I actually appreciated it.
“I don’t know. I used to watch my dad, and seeing him in his uniform was enough for me. That was all I could imagine for myself, but while I was at college, I found the investigations very intriguing. What about you?
