Scott’s POV I carried her in. Her head lolled against my chest, warm and weightless. Her pulse still beat steadily beneath my fingertips, but the rest of her was unresponsive. Whatever she drank had hit fast. Too fast. The guest bedroom door was already open. My doctor stood beside the bed, gloves on, waiting. I had called her the moment Kendra dropped.
