Fallen
She stared down at the massive wolf prowling around the tree guarding her. Her arms hurt from holding on to the tree, but she had to wait until it was safe. Fallen leaned her head on the branch. She must have fallen asleep because when she woke up again, she felt arms reaching for her. She flinched, thinking that someone was trying to hurt her.
“Shhh, I’ve got you,” Kelani said softly as he picked her up and manoeuvred down the tree. He came back, she thought, as she clung to him as they descended to the ground. She was so happy to see him. She had been scared when they were attacked again, and Triam wasn’t sure that he could fight them off. But he somehow managed it, and they survived.
