Lily
For two reasons, I'm very excited as I arrive at work today. The first is that yesterday morning, after the party excitement had died down, my parents invited us to lunch. It was just Tony, Steff, my parents, and me.
My father made a reservation at an elegant restaurant, and the joy was overwhelming. Seeing them so happy, holding hands, made me realize that the love between them never left. It had just been dormant, waiting to emerge and reveal itself to the world.
I turn to look at my brother, and I know he feels the same way I do. It's true that, over the years, the four of us have gone out together, but today is a completely new experience. Very soon, the four of us will be the Pena family again: Mr. and Mrs. Pena and the Pena Fuentes kids. My heart is filled with immense joy.
