“So, why were you out of the room again?” Aaron had one eyebrow raised high. Mom had just gone out of the room and we were again left alone.
“Um. I wanted to surprise you by going through the office door. But then Mom and Sandra appeared in the hallway. I heard Mom discussing with Sandra her behavior. I didn’t want to step on their discussion—”
“But you eavesdropped?” A light smirk was on his lips.
“Yes.” I lowered my head and then played with my fingers. I was caught and I couldn't lie. Aaron would know anyway. I had nowhere to go but stay put.
Aaron was already seating on his chair and I was slightly leaning my back to his desk.
“And? Looks like you have something to tell me.” He took my hands and guided me to sit on his lap. I did and it still amazed me up to that mome
