I don’t know how long we stay in the shower because, by the time we walk downstairs for dinner, my mother is nowhere to be seen.
"She got a call and said it was a work emergency," Matt replies when I inquire, but what I don’t understand is why he didn’t tell me my mother was around. How did she even manage to enter my house without anyone informing me? Is everyone in my house compromised?
"And you didn’t think I needed to know that she was around?" I ask, and he looks at me confused.
"But, sir, I was with you the whole time; I am the one who brought you home." "I wasn’t aware that she was around; otherwise, I wouldn’t have let her in after the stunt she pulled." He replies, and I sigh.
"Okay, I think that escaped my mind. Where are Weston and the rest of the team?"
