I gathered the copies of the books I hadn’t sold and stepped out of the bookstore.
I’d done better than I’d expected today. More people had turned up than at my last signing two weeks ago. It was a damp November day, so perhaps the people who’d showed up this morning had nothing better to do with their time. Regardless, my agent would be happy.
My sales had gone down a little with this third installment in The Agency series, but the market was in turmoil and yes, I hadn’t been as aggressive with marketing this book compared to the other two. I’d been neglecting the promotion part. In the last five years, I’d been blessed enough to live off my writing.
