I can't help the warmth that spreads through my chest when listening to Barrett speak. Everything was taken from him and here he stands claiming us as his family. Looking out onto the pack as Barrett announces us as Alpha and Luna has my heart full. As the visiting pack members applaud, all the members of the Blue Crescent bare their necks. Seeing the acceptance of his entire pack has pride flowing through our bond.
"Rose, get to Lily now" Zora says, her voice startling me. I want to ask what the hell is going on, but the edge to her voice has me rushing off the stage. Growling in the distance has my heart pounding against my chest. When I reach Maureen, I pull Lily from her arms without a word. Lily instinctively wraps her arms around my neck.
"Rose, put Lily behind us" Z
