Chapter Eleven - The Date

"are you sure you sent her the right location?" My best friend asked again and I sighed kinda getting tired of the same question, "Yes Maud.. For the 100th time, I told you yes..."

She fixed my make up, "then why hasn't she arrived... It's been an hour, she should have been here by now..."

I rolled my eyes, "has it ever occurred to you that your ass has to do my hair.. maybe she's talking her time because you haven't fixed my braids idiot..."

It was Saturday morning and Maudy was freaking out coz I sent Katherine the location to fetch me an hour ago and the woman wasn't here yet. I was a bit nervous so I was okay with her arriving late..but my friend wasn't.

Maud decided to spend the weekend with me and my family since she didn't want to separate me from them coz tomorrow I'm leaving.

She did touch ups on my make up and then started fixing the hair that she braided on Thursday.

I got up when she was done and she smiled very proudly while looking at me, "God I should have been a fashion guru... You look ravishing... eatable, sexy, hot, beautiful...."

I blushed like crazy, "okay stop idiot.. stop...please..."

She laughed and took my hand bag, she looked at what was inside and then nodded to herself, "I am meeting Katherine today... not as your annoying girlfriend but as your annoying bestie..so I'll walk you to the car..."

I walked to the mirror on my wardrobe and I as soon as I saw myself I had to agree with Maud, I looked like fire. I smiled at her make up, she might have added a few years on my face..

"So I look 30 now...." I said and she winked, "you gotta meet her half way a bit.. you are just too young.. Dude she's even older than your parents.. that's f****d up..."

I shook my head, "please don't remind me about that.. She still doesn't know.." I looked at my watch nervously, "What's taking her so lo..."

I didn't finish my sentence due to my phone ringing. I quickly snatched it and answered without checking the caller ID, I was hoping it was her.. "hello..."

She cleared her throat, "Hey kid... I got lost and ended up right in front of your gate...."

I swear to God I almost had a f*****g heart attack. I thought she was going to say she ended up going back to her home...

"Thandy.... Thandy..." She said and I finally spoke, "don't... don't ever do that again, you almost gave me a heart attack..."

She laughed, "nice house.. would you come out already... I wanna see you..."

I smiled, flattered that she wants to see me as much as I wanted to see her, "okay okay... see you now now..."

"Please tell me that was her...." Maudy said walking in and I nodded. She took my hand bag and motioned with her head that I should get out.

I walked out of my room down the passage nervously until I reached the living room, Maa Sophia and my little sister were sitting there watching TV.

"Oh God..." Maa said that and I blushed.

"You look so beautiful Thandy... your date is soo lucky..."

"Make sure they bring you back home baby..." Maa said that and I frowned, "but Maa I'm not 16..."

She sighed, "okay.. but do call... please.."

I nodded and then looked all over the room, "where's dad..."

"Bathroom I think... want me to call him so he can give your date theee pep talk...?"

I shook my head as hard as I could, "nooooo Maa... I'm good Maudy will do that..."

"So is Maudy staying behind?" My sister asked and I shook my head at Maudy. But this i***t smiled, "I'll come back later babe...."

I pulled Maudy outside and said bye to my family. When we got out I saw a white Audi S7 parked outside the gate with deemed Windows...

Fuck this woman will be the death of me, does she know how much I love that car?

"Okay... so I think this woman is kinda into you so f*****g much.. nice ride..." my bestie said. I even forgot she was walking next to me. Opened the gate and closed it.

The driver's door opened and Kat was about to come out but Maudy stopped her, "It's okay Katty, I'll open for her.."

She closed the door and unlocked all the doors. Maudy turned me around and gave me one last look. Then she smiled, "I swear to God she's going to ask you to marry her..."

I laughed and playfully pushed her off. She held the door knob and opened it for me.

I smiled at her, "thank you so much... this means a whole lot... you have no idea..."

She kissed my cheek, "you don't mention it... I love you."

I got in and she held the door open and looked at Katherine then she handed me my bag and looked at me, "f**k she's beautiful..."

My cheeks flushed, "she can hear you.. so why don't you just tell her that..."

She shook her head, "what if she grows a big head and becomes ugly..."

Oh f**k this i***t was embarrassing me. I cleared my throat, "she can still hear you.."

She darted her eyes from me to Kat, "hello Katherine, I'm Maudy, her bodyguard, best friend, best sister, best everything... now.. Will you take good care of my kid right here..."

Katherine smiled, "Umhh... hi Maudy... I will do just that.. I'll make sure I take good care of her..."

She said the last part looking at me seductively.

Maudy smiled, "okay good... enjoy responsibly girls..." and then she closed the door and left.

I slowly turned to Kat and took her in as soon as my eyes meet up with hers. God she looked beautiful and a bit younger....?

I smiled, "Hey...."pp

She smiled too, "Hey..."

"I guess I shouldn't hug you since your bodyguard warned me..." she said and I laughed.

Then we sat there looked at each other. I allowed my eyes to take her in, she had on a red sleeveless dress, white heals and beautiful accessories. She looked fucken hot.

"God you look so beautiful..." I said a bit breathlessly and her smile widened, "thank you... you don't look bad yourself...."

I rolled my eyes, of course she was going to act like an i***t.

We sat there again... I cleared my throat, "aren't we going to drive?"

"Oh f**k it.... you look very beautiful.. I don't tell you that much I know, but... you should know it. You are very beautiful..."

As soon as she uttered those words my face flushed, oh fuck... "thank you Kat...but it could be that I'm young.. I look young.. or maybe your old ass might be seeing things..."

She laughed and then looked at my face, "God I am trying so hard not to kiss you right now..."

I frowned, "why are you stopping yourself...."

She smiled, "the date hasn't ended... so..." She handed me the GPS thing, "come on.. tell this i***t where we are going..."

I laughed and took it, then typed the location in Rosebank. There was a restaurant I saw there that was beautiful.

She smiled and started driving.

"So.. how are you late person... I got to say my friend wasn't impressed with your time..."

She rolled her eyes, "I have never been in this place... forgive me for getting lost and being a few minutes late....i am good anyways thank you for asking, how are you?"

I laughed, "trying by all means not to touch you... I mean sorry.. fuck... I'm good too... just not ready to leave South Africa.."

'coz of you..' I thought mentally..

She laughed, "Well behave yourself..... you heard what your girlfriend bodyguard said.. I don't wanna die...."

I shook my head, "alright... I will behave..."

We drove in comfortable silence. Kept on looking and smiling at each other now and then. There was no doubt I was falling for this woman but things were complicated, too much complications I wasn't sure if we could survive them. Besides, we didn't know each other very well. Which was the purpose of this date. Us knowing each other..

'and your destination is on the right....' the woman on the GPS said and Kat parked on the side of the restaurant and looked at me, "Well.. this was a loooooong drive..."

I rolled my eyes, "tell me if you are getting old so I can drive... this baby is a fucken dream I tell you.."

She laughed, and I got out. I opened the door for her and she smiled seeming flattered, "oh... thank you.."

She got out and locked the car. She looked around and breathed in the fresh air.

"It's beautiful isn't it..."

She nodded, "I'm getting impressed trust me..."

I smiled, "then follow me..."

She followed as we went inside the place. It was beautiful, and there were a few people in here already. A guy approached us and I smiled, "reservations for Thandy..."

The guy smiled at me, "table for two.. follow me..."

We followed him as he took us to our table. I opened the chair for Katherine and she smiled before sitting down.

"I'll call you a waiter..." the guy said but he winked at me before leaving. I scoffed silently and turned to my beautiful date, "so what would you like to order....?"

She shrugged, "I don't know really.. what about you?"

"Are you on the menu?" I asked looking at the menu and I heard her laugh, I squinted my eyes at the piece of paper I was holding then shook my head, "nope you are not on the menu.. I would prefer you..."

She laughed a bit louder now, "wow... so I'm still not sure what I want..."

"And I thought you'd have ordered me.. I mean look...." I leaned towards her and opened the menu again pointing at the first thing in that page, "..I'm right here.. you can order me."

She shook her head and poked my nose... "wouldn't you love that..."

We both laughed and ordered something to drink.

"Come on don't be like that..."

I laughed, "like what? She is an idiot... I mean who divorces you Katherine? You are the most selfless, amazing, beautiful, funny, weird, moody and awful driver.. I have ever met... very shitty I tell you but not worthy of being divorced..."

She shook her head and smiled, "stop it.."

We were down way this lunch and it was going fantastic.. I found out a lot about Katherine, including the fact that she was married just not to Mike.. to a Simone and they have been divorced for over eight years now. And she hasn't moved on since that.

"So why haven't you find another person...?" I asked and she shrugged, "I don't know... I just haven't found someone I guess and I really invested my time to work... which kinda makes me Simone..."

"She sounds like a b***h to me..."

She gasped, "don't be mean.. I mean everyone has a right to do whatever they wanna do...."

"Yeah but not f**k you over by f*****g someone while they are married... especially to Katherine Omarley..."

She smiled, "I am not saying I'm perfect... I have my flaws too, but her sleeping with our best friend just threw me off the garter... I just couldn't let it go... I mean.... it broke me..."

I took her hand in mine the second I saw her face change, she was being truthful. I nodded, "I can't imagine what it must have felt like but I know what being cheated on feels like.. it makes you feel like you are not enough.. like everything you did was just for nothing. There's something missing on you.. makes you feel like Shit.. and you don't deserve that.... I'm glad you divorced her..."

She smiled, "Yeah they have no idea the paranoia it leaves a person... the doubt about themselves, I spent the following two years asking where I went wrong. What I didn't do and what more I should have done... but she was happy with someone else.. and I had to accept that fifteen years of marriage just went down the drain..."

I nodded, "Yea.. she's a total bitch..."

She laughed, "stop.. I just told you I'm not perfect.."

"Oh I'm not either... first heartbreak when I was nineteen and I told myself I'd never give another person all of me, I'd never love like that again... so since then I have been doing the unthinkable...."

She pulled her hand away from me and I frowned, maybe I spoke too soon.

"What did you do?" She asked and I sighed, "I'm not sure if you'll look at me the same way you are now after finding out..."

She took a sip on her wine and smiled, "try me... please.."

"Well... I started... f**k Katherine I can't just say this... I like you okay and I don't want you running away from me because of...."

"...The stupid things that you have been doing in the past.." She laughed and took my hands in hers, "Thandy... honey... you can trust me.. just so you know, honesty is the key to start off something... and I'd rather hear something from you, than from..."

"Someone else.. Okay.. Umhh... I have been f*****g around... I mean.. I have been f*****g people... I'm not proud of it now, but I made sure that they knew what they were getting themselves into.. I told them that I wasn't into a relationship or some long term thing... so yeahh my best friend calls me a f**k girl.. which I haven't done since I met..."

I f*****g stopped when I realized where I was going with this...

"Since you met what?"

I sighed shaking my head no, "Kat... I don't wanna...."

"Say staff that's going to make me run off? Come on.. we are passed that..."

"You.... I haven't done it since I met you..."

"Well I kinda am aware that I collided with you, I never thought I paralyzed your hands..."

I laughed when I realized what she meant, "oh not only my hands.. my tongue too..."

She squeezed my hand and looked at me for a while, I smiled, "I f****d people but I only used my hands... I saved my tongue game for someone I'll be in a relationship with..."

She laughed and let go of my hands, "nice... happy person..." She then looked at the time... I did too and it was around three in the afternoon.

"God time is flying...."

I lifted my hand up and our waiter nodded his head. I looked back at the beautiful woman sitting in front of me, "indeed... let me pay up.. we still have a last stop..."

"Can I pay...." She said and I shook my head, "I asked you out so I'll pay..."

She smiled, "I'm impressed again... but just let me.. I'll feel..."

"And still.. no, stop insisting."

The waiter arrived and I asked for the bill. He left to take it and I turned to Kat again, "did I tell you how beautiful you are... and how I have never done this in three years and it feels so good.."

She smiled, "I haven't done this in... haha I'm not going to say a number, but it's been a while and it's just so good to feel special again..."

The waiter arrived disturbing us and I paid then we got up..

"So... where to from here...?" She asked when we reached outside and I gave her my puppy face..

She shook her head, "I know that look....what do you want? Ice cream...?"

I laughed, "No... can I drive.. please..."

"No..."

"Kat come on.. please, this is a surprise and I wanna drive you there.. please..."

She sighed a bit defeated, "you are not going to crash us, are you?"

I shook my head, "I promise you it's not going to happen..."

She took out the key from her bag and handed it to me.. I pulled her into a hug, "you are the best..."

She pulled away, "Yea, just don't make me regret it..."

I opened the door for her and then ran to get inside too. She smiled, "you do know you are awfully being a gentle woman right.. as much as it doesn't suit you.. it's cute.."

"I honestly want you to remember this day and hopefully many others that will follow after this..." I said truthfully and she blushed.

I started driving to Montague, there was an inside- kinda outside cinema there, where you can watch movies sitting in the comfort of your car. She Smiled when I drove in, "an outside kinda cinema? Last time when I was here my friends and I were attending a Lionel Richie concert.. Jesus now it's like this..."

I scoffed playfully, "Ohh God you just reminded me how old you are..."

That earned me a s***k on my thigh as I parked in a good space. "Dr Omarley... you are being very naughty right now..." I said that seductively making her bite her lower lip. The hand that s*****d me was still resting on my thigh, she slowly started moving it in circles and my whole body responded as I felt butterflies in my stomach and my blood rushed as usual.

Without noticing I leaned in on her and she was leaning in too. I smiled as I put my right hand on her left cheek, she did the same with her hand. She caressed my cheek and then pulled me closer closing the gap that was already in between us.

Her lips touched mine and she immediately deepened the kiss making me yearn for more. The hint of wine on her saliva turned me on more.

She held on tight and played with my tongue.

"Oh fuck...." I said pulling away.. She looked at me worry written in her face. I sighed, "I'm sorry...."

"It's okay... are you okay? Did I do something wrong?"

I shook my head and closed my eyes, "no.. Kat you didn't do anything wrong... I just...."

"What?"

I caressed her cheek, she smiled and I pulled her closer again and kissed her. She wasted no time in kissing me back. We kissed for a while, both fighting for the dominant position. She finally gave in when she felt my hand in between her thighs.

She gasped but didn't stop kissing me. I let my hand slide up an inch. Pulled away from the kiss but kissed her jaw and then nibbled on her neck.

"Mhm" she moaned a bit and held my head.

I moved my hand an inch higher and my finger tips felt a bit warm. I was now closer to her core...

I pulled away and looked at her. Her ocean blue eyes pierced mine as she tried to catch her breath.

"I... I think we are getting carried away...." I said and she looked at my hand inside her dress, "tell me about it..."

I removed my hand and looked away, "I'm sorry.."

"Hey... don't apologize... that was.. wooow... I think the movie is starting.... who's Erika?"

I smiled and looked at the screen and saw her, "Dallas... she's...."

"Let me guess.. your typa girl...."

I shook my head, "no... she's a me.. just that she's in trousers..."

Kat laughed, I mean Dallas was f*****g a girl as we spoke. I looked back at Kat, "I'm craving some snacks..."

"I can go get them...." She volunteered but I shook my head, "not happening..."

I got out to get us a few drinks and snacks. When I got back to the car she was holding her hospital phone. I frowned, "they want you..."

She shook her head, "thank God no.. but they need something and my file is in my office..."

I sighed, "I guess...."

"I can always call Bianca and tell her to look for me.. she's about to leave the office."

I shook my head as soon as a thought hit me.. "let's go.. we will finish off our date there..."

She leaned in and kissed my cheek, "you are the best..."

I shrugged, "you stole my line.. I wonder what else you are capable of stealing..."

She laughed, "girl...careful what you are asking kid..."

I rolled my eyes and started the car, "please stop calling me kid.. I bet you don't kiss kids the way you was kissing me..."

She laughed again, "God.. Thandy I am so sooryyyy..."

I rolled my eyes.

We talked about this and that on Our way back, laughing, genuinely laughing and I was liking her more..

"So who's Mike?"

"God you are so jealous of Mike... you'll meet him soon..."

"God.. what if he is your 27 year old son and he hates me for dating his mother... or what if he...."

"I told you I don't have a son... Simone and I don't have kids and I am glad we don't.... nothing connects me to her..."

I took her hand in mine, "she is a bitch.... She needs to know that. You are amazing when not moody..."

That earned me a slight push. I gasped, "you know I'm driving... don't try to kill me again.."

She laughed, "turn left..."

The gate opened and we parked. We both got out laughing. "Imagine if I had gotten you drunk on our first date..."

She laughed putting her hand on my shoulder, "that would have been a deal breaker..."

We made our way to the door...

"Okay.. how did I do?"

She stopped walking and looked at me, "so far...? Amazing... let's just see how you close off your first dates..."

I smiled to hide the nerves that just hit me. How they f**k do I close off the first date?

I shrugged, "Well be prepared to be blown away..." She laughed and opened took out the key but Bianca shouted from the inside, "Come on in...."

We walked in and Kat asked, "Bianca I thought I told you to leave early...what happened..."

Bianca started fidgeting with her fingers, "I know.. I was going to but..."

"Do I have any messages.. God I'm sorry I switched off my phone.."

"Just six calls from your ex wife.... She needed you urgently..."

My heart fell as soon as I heard that and Katherine's mood changed immediately, "what? What does she want now?"

"Umhh she said she has to tell you... I don't know really..."

Kat sighed, "okay.. I don't need to deal with her tonight, so I'll just get the file I'm here for and go finish my day with Thandy..."

Kat took my hand and as she was about to lead me to the office Bianca stopped us,

"What now Bianca?"

"Umhh... she's in your office right now... that's why I'm still here Dr Omarley, Simone is waiting for you in there.. She refused to leave..."

Suddenly Katherine let go of my hand and looked towards her office then back at Bianca. Then at me, "look... I have to deal with this..."

Shocked, I gasped, "what?"

"I'm sorry... you have to leave okay...I don't think she'll stop now..."

I looked at her a bit dumbfounded, I mean she wasn't telling me to leave so she could go to her ex during our date?

I shook my head, "I don't understand...."

"I'm sorry....." She said taking out money from her bag and handing it to me, "please take an Uber home... I'll call you..."

I shook my head in disbelief, threw the money in her face, "you know what Katherine... you can keep your money..."

Then I turned around to leave. I just couldn't believe this. I opened the door and felt a hand pull me as soon as I was outside.

"Look.... please wait..."

"What?"

"Remember what you called her..."

I rolled my eyes, "a bitch..."

"She's that and more, you are not ready to meet her... especially now.. we are just discovering this... I don't want her ruining this before it blossoms to what I hope it could be..."

I sighed, feeling a bit defeated. And her stupid words were making my heart melt.

She held my hands and I could see Bianca looking at us through the glass door.

"Babe... I have to deal with her alone okay... and I promise I'll take you to the airport tomorrow...."

I rolled my eyes, "did you have to call me that..."

She smiled, "no... but I wanted to call you that since you walked out of your home with your friend girlfriend in the morning.."

I smiled, "smooth talker...."

She held my face, "will you call me when you get home...please..." I nodded, "okay...."

She smiled then pulled me in for a kiss... " thank you so much for an amazing day.... I will fetch you tomorrow..."
