Chapter 8: Scarlett's Apology (Celeste’s POV) After everyone left, I helped Eleanor back to her chambers. Her frail body seemed lighter than I remembered, and her breaths came in short, labored gasps. "I promise, I’m fine, my little one," she whispered, though her voice was weak and shaky. Her body trembled slightly as we crossed the threshold of her room. She was trying to be strong for me, but I could see everything—her paling complexion, the sweat beading on her brow, and the way her legs wobbled as though they might give out at any moment. She didn’t make it to her bed. Just as we reached it, her knees buckled. I grabbed her quickly, supporting her limp form as she fell against me. "Grandmother!"
