Chapter 10: She Saved Me
(Celeste’s POV)
The scream tore through the cold air, sharp and desperate.
“Help! Someone help! Scarlett fell through the ice!”
The voice sent a jolt through my body, slamming against my chest like a blow.
Nina burst into my room almost instantly, her face pale, her movements frantic. “My Lady, please stay here. Let the others handle—”
But I was already halfway to the door, ignoring the protest in her voice.
“My Lady! Your wounds—”
Her words barely hit my ears. The moment I stepped outside, the icy wind bit into my skin, like sharp teeth scraping against my scars. My arms burned where the silver-scarred flesh reacted to the cold. It didn’t stop me.
My wolf stirred weakly, protesting the sting of the icy air. I ignored that too.
