My heart stops and I suddenly feel like the air is knocked out of my chest.
He's lying. What an accusation. How dare he?
"My father died in a car accident." I snap feeling an indescribable anger go through my body.
Brian purses his lips. "Is that what they told you? A werewolf. A famous Devondale family guard died by a pathetic human cause?"
"Your anger for the Devondales has corrupted you." I lash out feeling the need to slap him.
He remains passive and upon closer inspection Brian looked sad for me. "And your love for them has blinded you."
I feel my heart contract painfully and my knees give making me fall into the grass. Brian tries to reach for me but I put my hands up to stop him. "Tell me your lying."
