I never thought that my story would end like this.
Sa dami ng mga paghihirap na dinaanan ko, hindi ko akalain na hahantong ako sa ganito.
"Kumusta?" iyon ang bungad na tanong ko kay Symon.
He was sitting on a couch in front of me. Maayos na nakasuklay ang buhok niya, hindi na rin siya mukhang problemado. His eyes were bright as well as his smile.
"Ayos lang, I'm happy for what I've achieved so far. Hindi ko ito maaabot kung hindi dahil sa 'yo," aniya.
Umiling ako. "Anong hindi mo maaabot kun'di dahil sa akin? Ikaw ang umabot niyan, huwag mo akong idamay," biro ko.
He laughed at what I said. "Funny how we end up like this, Erzae. All my life I thought you are my enemy. That's what mom told me every now and then. Not knowing that we have the same goal," he said.
