“Leave me you monster!” Violet bit his fingers and kept shrieking as Hawkeye dragged her in. “Ah! A good princess never bites a minister, my dear, unless she is a mouse,” Hawkeye chuckled at his own statement and pushed her forward after slamming the door behind him. Violet lost her balance and fell over a pile of soiled books that were scattered around her. The combination of the pungent smell of sulphur and the sweet smell of moist wood tingled her nose as she tried to compose herself and stand up.
