Edward’s POV
This is a nightmare. I’m trapped and have no way out of this at all. If I admit it, I’m a dead man. I’m still fired if I don't, and no one will hire me again. I will be an outcast, and have no idea what I can do to fix this. I could tell that Clinton was angry before they brought me forward. I’ve heard the whole conversation. Jaxon is smarter than I gave him credit for. I thought he was just the regular coddled heir. The typical Alpha handed everything, but never earned any of it. I really underestimated him, and I’m paying for it now. The five days in the cell reminded me of something I'd long forgotten, and I just wished I'd remembered it sooner.
