Melina’s POV
The sound of a helicopter was much closer when all hell broke loose. The sound of gunshots rang out, harsh and unexpected in the silence. My sisters in the backseat started screaming, and I couldn’t blame them. This was intense. I was terrified, knowing that my brother, mate, uncle, and Alpha Jaxon were on that helicopter. Allen wasn’t going to take the chance of them arriving safely. I knew before I heard the loud whine that they were trying to take out the helicopter.
I didn’t wait. I pressed the fob into Isabel’s hand and quickly said, “Alpha Allen's after you, not me. Trevor is less dangerous than Allen. They'll die if we can’t slow their descent. I have to try, lock the SUV behind me.”
