“We received a tip that you are engaged in the illegal trading of ammunition and explosives. Care to elaborate?”
I watched her silently. An amused smile crept onto my lips. It was truly fascinating. Romano was using the law as a weapon against me, proving once again that he was a man full of surprises.
“Do you think your silence will set you free?” she demanded, her voice tightening with anger when she realized I wasn’t going to speak.
“I never imagined we’d meet again like this. What a twist,” I replied, effortlessly ignoring her question.
