I stared at the papers I had just received. I couldn’t believe it. She actually filed a complaint against me and now, she was asking for divorce? She didn’t even come to see me. She didn’t even make a single phone call to see how I was doing.
The police couldn’t find any direct proof linking me and the murders. Of course they won’t. How would they? I haven’t done anything wrong. However I was still locked up. They said they couldn’t bail me out unless Hanna takes her complaint back.
This is ridiculous. I paced around the cell. Maybe she didn’t love me. My heart broke in to tiny pieces as I thought about it. I thought she was different. Turns out she wasn’t. I sat on the hard concrete bed they had made for the prisoners. I don’t belong here. I don’t deserve to be here.
