Flossie, Corine, and Treasure are sitting on the porch. She's listening to the two women talking about the Stewarts and the Paynes. Each family seems to stay to themselves. Only rides into town for shopping. Treasure does the accounting for all of their business, and neither of the families has requested credit. She finds that strange, making her wonder where they get their money since neither family works in town.
