HAPPY READING Reign Menture POV I open the door to my room and usher her in quickly. She looks around refusing to look at me since we exit the car along the lobby into the hotel and now our room. I see fear in her eyes and after what she has been through it is well placed. She doesn't need to fear me and in due time she will see it. "I-, Can I?" she asks fidgeting with the hem of her shirt. "Can you what?" I ask. "Use the bathroom," she tilts her head to the side and finally looks at me still trying to study my face. I point to the bag on the bed, "everything you need is in there. Take as much time as you need." She looks at the bag but didn't move. I don't have a read on her so I'm not sure what could be going through her head. "It's ok, I'm never going to hurt you all I asks is your trust for the moment." I try to reassure and put her at ease. "How can I trust someone I don't know, not even your name is known to me" she counter as soon as the words leave my mouth. My eyes move from her eyes to her lips watching them quiver. "I know I am asking for a lot but please trust me." "Sorry I don't mean to be ungrateful," Delsa says. "You will get to know me, every last detail. Go freshen up and I will get you something to eat, you must be hungry." "Those officers took me for God knows what. How do I know this isn't a part of it. How do I trust you, I've never set eyes on you." "Miss Mingo, my name is Reign Menture. I assure you I am trustworthy, you can trust me. If I wanted to arm you, I wouldn't have brought you to a presidential suite to get the job done, Trust me. If you will, just have a little faith in me and you will see I could never harm you." She looks at the bag on the bed once again. I can see the wheels turning in her head and she is pondering what I said and maybe how to react. A concerned frown graces her face as she looks back at me. "Please go freshen up and I promise to make all this make sense for you. All I want is to return you to your parents safely." "My parents?" Delsa asks. "Your parents" I repeat nodding my head at her. She walks over to the bag picking it she places it on her stomach and walks into the bathroom. I know it's going to take her some time to trust me and to process all that happened earlier and all that is about to happen in the next 48 hours. They made her the scapegoat while they sit back and watch. I will make every last one of them pay for every single day they made her spent in that prison. When I find out how deep this runs I will deal with every last one of them for the way they had my fiance in that s**t whole. I am beginning to get angry but I need to calm down for her. She is already scared and traumatised enough. I take out my phone reading a message from Kamaru telling me he's at the passport office with his connection. I call room service and order everything on the lunch menu, I don't know what she likes to eat so I took the liberty of ordering everything. After a few hours, she finally makes a slow entrance into the room. While I pace outside the bathroom door wondering if I should just walk right in. "I was beginning to wonder if I should come in, to get you." She bites her lower lips and now that she is showered fresh I see her true beauty. Her hair is tied in a white towel and she wears the cream coloured dress resting just above her knees from the bag. I reckoned her size perfectly. With only her photograph I made an accurate choice of her size as the dress sits flawlessly onto her body. How I long to see her in person, I can't wait to have her in my arms. Miss Mingo is definitely a natural beauty and her photo doesn't do her justice. Her eyes darted to the table with the food and she press harder on her lips with her teeth. I press my thumb where her teeth stop removing her lip between her teeth and she gawk up at me. Our eyes lock and everything stops, time and space are no more. My 6ft, 56 inches frame towers her 4ft, 34 inches structure. I peer into her liquid brown eyes mesmerised by the shade of it, how it glows lighter as her head tilts upwards and light hits it from an angle. I hope to read all it brandish but all I see is fear, wonders yet to be explore, innocence, hurt and worries. I hope she can see the fantastic new point of view I am ready to show her wonder by wonder as she stare back at me. It is my desire to remove all I do not want to see in her eyes. I take a closer look at every feature of her face, her cheeks, her nose, best of all her lips I burn them in my memory afraid I might forget any part of her if I look away too long. Gently I swipe my thumb over her bottom lip. I lean in ready to capture them between mine, wanting to taste her plump lips for what felt like a very long time. Her eyes close and her stomach growls breaking our trans, we snap back to reality. Her eyes pop open and she blushes. My hand drop to my side, Delsa let out a sharp breath and I step back. "Come, I order everything on the menu, take anything you like," I say but had to clear my throat at how strange my own voice sounded. Never has a woman mesmerised me this way. She didn't move the first few seconds, Delsa just stare at the food fidgeting with her fingers twisting them and chipping at her nails. I wanted so badly to take them in my own and reassure her but I have to be patient. Her eyes glaze over and she tilts her head back looking up at me. In the few minutes I am alone with her, she is an open book as she studies my face, my eyes mostly. Maybe she doesn't think any of this is real or she is still trying to process it. It is surreal even for me. I take both of her hands in mine and the thrills from before course through my body, she blushes looking down. "I don't bite at least not yet," I wink at her and there it goes that flutter from before. She is adorable when she blushes, never thought I would see the day when I said someone or something is adorable. Guess mother was right when she said the right woman changes everything. I walk us over to the table and hold out the chair for her. The moment she sits down she digs in. I watch as she eats everything putting two, three spoonfuls at once into her mouth. She must be famished probably didn't eat a marcel since being taken and placed into that forsaken place. She didn't look up once her eyes are transfixed on the food in front of her as she stuff a variety into her mouth. A woman who eats more than salad and eats in front of me is worthy. I couldn't take my eyes off of her it's like I'm not even here any longer to her. Not once did she look up at me since sitting own to eat. I'm fascinated and astonished by her. What a creature God created and even sitting, I tower her. She is like a dove, my beautiful little dove. Try as she might she couldn't finish everything on the table but she did a decent job of putting a dent in it. She burps and then reality set back in. She becomes aware of her surrounding as she covers her mouth, she looks at me as though the earth can open its mouth and take her. "It's ok and understandable," I say trying to put her at ease. The faster she gets comfortable the better for the both of us. The fidgeting starts again as this time she fingers with the table napkin. "You're very beautiful when you aren't fidgeting little dove." "I- I'm hungry, was hungry," she says and put her hand to cover her face. I lean over removing her hand to look at her beautiful face. Her eyes glitter as her head is tilt back looking at me incredulously, maybe to process what I said or she doesn't understand it's a compliment. "We should talk about what is going to happen in the next 48 hours," I say to her ready to fill her in on what happened and to hear her side. She didn't react or respond and I believe she zoned out like in the cell earlier, staring at my face. For some reason, she looks at me as if I'm not real or if any of this isn't teal. She better get used to it because she will see a lot more of this face. "You didn't hear a word I said, did you." "uh," she shakes and lowers her head embarrass at her action. "It is perfectly fine to stare at your fiance," I say to her lifting her chin looking into her eyes. Her eyes almost pop, "my wha-" she clears her throat and pinches herself. "Ouch," she exclaims. "My what-?" she jumps out of her seat. "That is what I wanted to talk to you about. Do you know Everton Rivera?" "Wait you said fiance did I hear wrong." "You didn't." "How?" "I'm going to marry you." "Marry me?" "Little dove it will all make sense." The shocked expression on her face told me how innocent she is, "do you know Everton Rivera." "Ever- who? I never hears that name before." "Rivera" "Never heard a name like that in my life." "That is what I thought. These are very dangerous people and they had you take the fall." "Fall?" "Yes" "For what" "Narcotics smuggling, plenty of it." "Narcotics?" "Yes" "But I've never even seen any form of drugs in my life." "I know." "Why would anyone ever say I smuggled Narcotics." "Someone has to take the blame." "Are you telling me the truth?" "Every word of it." "But why-" her eyes moisten, she tries to wipe it away quickly but it keeps flowing rolling down her cheeks. She starts to pace back and forth "why would I travel all the way here to smuggle drugs? Why wasn't I stopped at the airport over here or before travelling here?" she says as her tears continue to flow down her cheeks. All I want at this moment is to comfort her, hold her in my arms, telling her it is ok and there is nothing to worry about anymore. But she needs time. "Exactly" She is smart no wonder she did excellent at school. I made it my duty to read every last detail of my future wife, I know she wasn't dating at the moment, never had a boyfriend in high school or college, graduated top of her class and didn't have much of social life. "You think I did this?" "No" "Why not." "If I didn't believe you, I would not have been here or gone through the lengths I did to get you out of there," I told her confidently so she understands I'm here for her, she is not alone as she believes. "Why me?" her chest rise and fall as deep sobs escape her. I take big steps to meet her and wrap my arms around her back. "It is ok little dove," I stroke her back up and down with smooth circles trying to calm her. For a moment she leans onto my chest as a sob reeks through her. With all this happening I couldn't ignore how good it feels to have her in my arms, at last, to be her comfort. "Little dove they can never harm you, ever again," I state wrapping my arms firmly around her pulling her fully into my embrace and she let me. She wasn't tense as before but just as vulnerable as she cries. "They can't?" She questions, trembling and I tighten my hold on her. "Little dove believe me I'm going to get to the bottom of it but I have to marry you to ensure your safety first." "Marry me?" She asks with a blank flabbergasted expression as she steps out of my hold. "Yes" "How?" She asks. "You've never been to a wedding?" She rolls her eyes at me, "how do I know you're not going to kill me and dump my body." "Why would I ever harm God's best gift to man little dove?"
