The door slammed shut at Lyon’s exit, and all my defences shot up. I didn’t want to be left alone with him or anyone but him, but Lyon didn’t know about what happened between us, so he didn’t know any better. We stayed silent for a long while, but the silence, although appreciated, wore me out.
