My heart skipped a beat, knowing that we were alone, and the last thing I wanted was to be alone with him. Not when he’s in this state. “What are you doing here?” I whisper-yelled at him. “Trying to escape the crowds,” he answered, before turning the question around, “why are you here?” “To escape the noise, the crowd, and you,” I said the last part to myself. “Oh,” he said, taking a step further away from the door, and I watched his every move. His eyes flickered over me from head to toe, and though he had observed me this way in the past, his eyes had never given away any form of desire as they did now. “You look gorgeous,” he muttered, finally gazing up at my face.
