CHAP 15

Red is supposedly considered a lucky color, but to me, it suddenly seems unfortunate. If ever one's luck runs out, mine certainly seems to have done so now. I swallowed hard and tried to smile at her. "H-Hello." I let out a raw laugh with a simple wave of my hand. "I study here," I explained, even though she didn't ask me. There was no trace of joy on her face, even though I tried to lighten the atmosphere. I noticed some of those watching us had joy on their faces because the woman was confronting me, while there were also others who were silent and afraid to interfere. I want to laugh because this time I can tell who is awoo awoo among them and who isn't. "Stand up," she commanded. I took a slow breath as I was hesitant to comply. In the end, there was nothing I could do but follow. First, because she has a position. Second, because she has fangs. Whichever of the two she uses on me, I can't win either. "What you naively did is something I will never forgive. If the alpha lets you go, well, not me. I will punish you." I could feel the rage in her tone. I'm not stupid enough to ask why she would do that or why she's doing this to me. Obviously, she likes their Alpha. She likes Cleon. Even though I was scared, I still managed to calm down. I don't know where I get my confidence that I won't just perish from it. Perhaps because I am aware that she would much rather torment me than kill me instantly. "Run around the campus, six times." I couldn't help to heave a deep breath when she said that. "Miss." I faked a laugh. "I didn't participate in the sports contest," I continued. A strong slap hit my cheek. My brain literally stopped functioning at that moment. I hesitated whether to attack her back or just let her bully me. In the end, I simply decided to take a deep breath and calm myself down. Remember, Faraiah. You are just a student, not a student with anti-rabies and anti-tetanus. "Do you think I'm fooling around?" She said emphatically, and the color of her eyes began to change. Do I look like I'm joking too? I just bent down and bit my bottom lip to stop my talkative mouth. "Sorry," was all I could say. "What are you still waiting for? Get out of my sight!" she shouted; she also knocked my chair over, scattering my belongings as a result. I used a lot of restraint just to not look at her and give her a bad look. Bullshit, this is still a trend in the 21st century. Cringe. I silently picked up my bag and some things that came out of it. After that, I started walking towards the door without looking at her. I secretly cursed her in my mind. If only she wasn't in human form, I'd think she was crazy. I rubbed my cheek as I walked. I frowned because it's definitely red now. I'm not super white; I've been through a lot since I lost my parents, but my skin is still very sensitive. I knew my crimson cheeks would remain all day. Jeez! My shoulders slumped as I realized the girl's punishment on me. She didn't just want me to go around the entire campus once, but six times! Just thinking about the sunshine this afternoon makes me feel dry. On an unlucky day, a jealous woman attacked you. I just shook my head and put my bag on a bench. I'd rather leave my gear here than take it with me on a run; that would just add weight. I only put my cellphone in my pocket because that's the only thing that can be stolen from me. I took a deep breath and looked around the campus. Even though I cringed at the extent of it, I started to stretch my knees so that my body wouldn't be shocked by the marathon I was going to do. I stayed for a few minutes, stretching, until I started running. Just think that this is training when the werewolves chase you, Faraiah. I just laughed at my own stupidity and shook my head. I continued running even though I noticed some students staring at me from their respective rooms. Amazing, there are also nosy awoo awoo among them. Psh! *** ALMOST thirty minutes had passed, and I was only halfway through my second round. I'm covered in sweat, and my skin is starting to burn because the sun is getting stronger. Even though I was tired, I couldn't help but be amazed. Because I don't think that the teaching here is different for werewolf children. Some of the Epsilons who went to the mansion were assigned to them. They taught not only education but also their lives as... ahmmm... werewolves? Hunting, wolf form, etc. Those are just some of the things I heard and saw when I passed them. After all, that's not fashionable for mortals because it's not that complicated to be human. I stopped running for a moment when I felt dizzy. My vision started to get grainy and black. I feel like I'm going to fall over if I don't force myself to straighten my knees. "You can't stop yet, Faraiah. We're not even halfway through what you should be able to do," I reminded myself. I just took a few breaths and continued running despite the blackness of my vision. I was making my way to the front gate of the academy when I noticed a familiar figure. Little by little, I saw his wrinkled forehead as the distance between us narrowed. "Cleon?" I murmured unconsciously. He was standing while holding his breath. I could clearly see his jaw tensing and the color of his eyes changing despite his cold face. I didn't know if I should stop in front of him or continue running, but I couldn't do either as my eyes rolled completely. I was expecting myself to fall on the pavement, but Senyorito quickly caught me. Even though I can't see him clearly, his smell is familiar to me. I could feel the tightness of his hold on me even though he was very careful. "Senior..." I said weakly and completely closed my eyes. I don't know why, but when I'm in his arms, I feel so at ease. I feel as though I'm being held still and put to sleep. Eventually, I found myself in oblivion when I felt his soft touch on my cheek afterward. "Whoever did this to you, I will break their fvcking bones."
