48 - It’s Time

Shiloh While Candace got dressed, I returned to the bathroom, where I used a washcloth to wipe the remaining blood off my body. Unfortunately, it made a surge of anger swell within me, as I recalled the state Candace was in when we found her in the cave. Angrily, I continued to clean that ugly reminder off of me, scrubbing with intent. Of course, that made my skin red and raw in various spots. When I was done, I looked in the mirror and instantly groaned. Despite my hair being brown, I could see the blood on it. I had just turned the faucet on at the sink when I was startled by Candace asking, “What’s wrong, my love?” I glanced over at Candace, then at the bathtub that still had a little blood on the edge of it, then back at my reflection in the mirror. That’s when it happened.
