(Alexander) I made my way back to my room, a tremor still coursed through my body from the fight. The second I crossed the threshold, I saw Selene sitting on the edge of my bed, her arms crossed, her expression unreadable. She didn’t look up right away, but I knew she felt my presence. The room was quiet, except for the sound of my breathing as I forced myself to stay calm. I didn’t want her to notice anything was off.
