(Selene) I didn’t plan to come here. When Alexander told me where he was going, I said okay. I told myself I’d trust him, trust everything we’d built. But as soon as I got home, I felt it. That tight pull in my chest. Ember was just as restless as I was. 'Go to him,' she said. Over and over. I tried to ignore her. Tried to tell myself it was fine. That he’d be okay. That he’d come back to me like he always did. But Ember wouldn’t stop. And neither would the ache in my stomach. So I came. I didn’t dress up. I didn’t fix my hair or worry about what I looked like. I just followed the bond. And now I was here, standing in the doorway, watching the last part of something I never thought I’d have to see. Alexander’s shirt was pulled down just enough for his mark to show. My mark. Victor
