"When are you going to mark me?" I asked, my voice low as I lay beside him. Even though I had insisted on taking a shower, Alexander kept me close, not letting me move an inch. "Ember’s growing restless. She wants to connect with Kieran. She calls me selfish for keeping her at bay, but if we mark each other, I won’t have to deal with her nagging anymore."
I gave him a hopeful look, wishing he'd finally give in. "You know it’s not that simple," he said, and my hope deflated. I knew he would resist, even after announcing I was his mate.
"I think it’s fair game, Alex. We’ve f****d a lot of times already, here and at the university. You changed the rules here, letting me be myself around you. If you're worried about the university, I could just wear turtlenecks to hide the mark."
