I stayed there with Alexander for a while, just holding on to him. Neither of us said anything. We didn’t have to. Everything was tense right now, and words didn’t seem enough.
After a while, he kissed my forehead and told me to get some rest. I nodded and watched him walk away to check on the others.
I stayed there for a minute, breathing deeply, trying to clear my head. I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep yet. My body was tired, but my mind wouldn’t shut up.
I walked outside and found Lucas sitting by himself, messing with his training gloves. He looked up when he heard me, then looked back down.
I walked over and sat next to him without saying anything.
He stayed quiet too. For a long time.
