I slowly took back control from Kieran, trying to remain calm as I took a deep breath. Selene lay sprawled on the bathroom floor, flushed, sweat clinging to her skin, her body trembling slightly. She looked like a dream—completely ruined and completely mine.
“Hey,” I whispered, brushing her hair back. “Let’s take a break.”
She let out a soft groan, her eyes barely opening. “That sounds good.”
I helped her sit up and wrapped her in the towel we’d tossed aside earlier. She leaned against me, quiet, catching her breath.
