She was about to turn away, not wanting to risk wrecking her reputation with the guard by failing a charisma check at a crucial moment, when she remembered that she still hadn’t turned in the hidden quest she’d completed when Astredian took her on their first Eresday outing. She waited a few minutes for some of the other runners who’d arrived ahead of her to leave, then made her approach.
“I know you must be busy, but I have something I need to tell you.” Elise said as she came up, raising a fist to her chest in a salute of respect. “The lights of Lake Heron served a warning to us all. Today we heed their last call, to fight or die, until the dragon’s fall.”
