Mating season was the time of the year where the number of territory breaches increase the most. All unmated wolves would roam around looking for a mate. With an alliance in place they can go on neighboring territory to search for their mate.
As years went by, less and less werewolves were lucky to find their mates. Which makes them look for a s*x partner instead and both goes in their own way not looking back after they satisfied their lust.
Werewolves need frequent mating to be able to conceive. Since s*x partners don’t stick around like fated mates, our population keeps declining and we lost territory to humans. However, rogues don't go by pack rules. They take advantage of the females in heat to mate with them. Sometimes they would kidnap, r**e and kill just for pleasure
