"Are you ready for your travel, Anastasia?"
"Yes, Madam. Thank you for everything."
"Supposedly, I'm the one who needs to say thank you, Anastasia. By the way, here, take these items. My children gave me a present for you."
"Wow! I don't know what to say, Madam. I had everything already, yet they still gave me gifts. Thank you very much, Madam."
She's so lucky to have family Hamad as her employer. Although she's a maid, they never treat her like other people. Instead, she's their eldest child. She served them for four years, and now she's going home to her native land.
After a while, when they are in front of Beirut International Airport.
"Take care of yourself, Anastasia. Call me when you arrive in your country."
"Again, thank you very much, Madam. And yes, I will do that."
Madam Noura just smiled as she nodded at her.
BUT!
"My God! What's the meaning of this feeling?"
She just can't understand the nervousness that is hunting deep inside of her. Even though she's smiling, talking to all her fellow passengers but she's feeling anxious. They have already travelled for a few hours, and they are about to land at Ninoy International Airport.
"Hey, Ana. Are you excited to be home?" one passenger asked her.
"Yes, I am." She lied because the word to describe the way she feels is anxiety.
"That's natural, my friend. We just came back from another country. I miss my man." She giggled.
Her man! She is so happy while chatting with her. But why was she so surprised upon hearing the word 'her man'? What the hell is going on with her? Well, she's at home, and maybe she's just missing her husband.
AFTER SOMETIMES...
"What the hell is going on here?!" Her tiredness from her long journey faded because of what she witnessed.
"A-ana, when did you arrive?" Lester answered instead.
"Explain to me, Lester, don't answer back with a question as well!" She's furious!
It seems that all her dreams are true. The way her sisters and friends spoke about her husband.
"Honey, who is that person? Why she just bragged in and making noises in our room?" A woman says as she gets up from the bed. What a shameless woman! Even she didn't bother herself in covering.
Their room? Supposedly she is the one who will ask that question, not her! Instantly, she got closer to that damn woman and pulled her hair!
"What did you just say? Your room? You bitch! This place is our room, not yours! Who are you? What are you doing here?!" she asked furiously.
Although, she doesn't own personally, she has a lot of contributions on it. She sent all her salaries for all those years.
"Honey, help me to get out of this monster's hand---"
"Monster? Okay, fine! I'll show you how a monster gets angry! Get out! You don't have any place here! You are just a slut who's trying to ruin our relationship. He is my husband. That is why I have a right to chase you out!"
"Husband? Hey, monster! Don't you dare to call him your husband! You don't even carry his child, and most importantly, he is not your husband because you have never been---"
It's true that they didn't get married even though they have been living as husband and wife for a few years. But that is one of the reasons why she went overseas, for them to earn and keep the money. Still, that's not enough reason for her to be cast aside.
But if she interrupted her husband's mistress words by pulling her hair once more, Lester pulled hers too which almost made her fall to the floor.
"Enough, Anastasia! You have been far away for four years, and I need a woman who can give me satisfaction. Don't blame me for this because I told you before not to go but you insisted," he said.
"Honey, will you send her away? You know already that I'm pregnant. I don't want that our babies will resemble her," the bitch said while cuddling Lester as if she will take it away.
Betrayal at once!
She's so frustrated to know that he's been cheating on her all those years that she's been away. But she knows the fact that his mistress is already pregnant is a different issue.
"Lester, tell me the truth. Is she carrying your child? Is that true?" She's trembling, but she needs to know the truth.
"Yes, Anastasia. She's telling you the truth. I'm sorry, but like what I said a while ago, I'm just a man who needs happiness."
Boom!
She is known from him as he confirmed all that they say is nothing but the truth. That is why it's exploded like an aerial bomb. And before he takes her out, as the pregnant woman says, she voluntarily walks towards the stairs down to the first floor. Without looking back, she just took her two luggage.
"Hija, when did you come home?"
But instead of answering the question, she asked. And yes, she's nowhere to go. She sent all her salary to Lester when she was still in Lebanon. She only saved three months as her pocket money. And now, she's in need. She just swallowed her pride and showed up at the canteen that owns by Lester's parents.
"Ma--- A-auntie, can I stay here for a while? I will help you in working as payment for my lodging. But don't worry because I'll try my best to have a job," she said while her tears were uncontrollably rolling down her cheeks.
"Ana, we are still your Mama and Papa. Indeed, Lester is our son, but we will not take his side because of that. We are so sorry that we never mention his treacherous act. Aside from his death threat to us, Ellysa is our mayor's daughter. About your question, you can stay here as long as you want, Ana."
Even she will not look back to know who's talking she already understood that it's Lester's father. She recognized his voice by the way.
"Your father is right, Hija. You will always be our daughter. Go up and take a rest. Your old room here before you went overseas is still available. It's clean and ready to use."
She can't say anything, but she's still lucky to have them. But her tears poured even more o know that even though Lester cheated on her, they still acknowledged her as their daughter-in-law.
Lester's mother assisted and sent her to the room. All the boarders are whispering and looking at her, but she can't blame them. She's not in a position to be curious about her surroundings. All she needs to do is to survive.
