“Go child,” her voice faded as she fell backwards.
I ducked down and tried to pull her up when I met with a terrifying sight. Her eyes were wide open, motionlessly staring at the skies.
My hands trembled, a pulse of current running through my chest. I could tell there was no life in those eyes. Is she dead?
My heart raced, my breath loud and rapid.
