"What is going on?" I asked as I walked into my house.
I practically ran all the way home after hearing Carlos's voice. As soon as I walked into the house, I saw Carlos talking with Jax. They were in the living room whispering to each other.
"You're supposed to be in New York," I seethed lowly.
"Yeah, chill sobrino," Carlos said. "We can talk about it later."
"Later?" I asked incredulously. "Why-"
"There you are!" Mom shouted as she came into the living room. "I have been calling you all night, mi hijo! Where have you been? Your tío came to visit."
Mom smiled brightly as she looped her arm through Carlos's. Carlos smiled just the same at me. I narrowed my eyes at the smug look on his face.
