Chapter 8 In the pit, the fire was going nicely. Kieran had done a great job stoking it. To Liam’s pleasant surprise, Kieran was a natural out here in the woods. Of course, Liam couldn’t help smiling every time he caught sight of Kieran piling up wood, or hanging their damp clothes on the rope, or even holding a fishing rod. It was a strange vision—Kieran in his checkered Docker pants and pink T-shirt, walking around in a forest. At least Kieran had traded his white leather sneakers for army boots. Kieran’s loud fashion style would have gotten him noticed on the trendiest streets of Paris, so never mind a campsite in the middle of nowhere.
