They rowed together, gliding the canoe further from the shore, the water rippling against it. They hadn’t caught anything yet, but it was still early. Liam knew the trout were plenty in this water, and he intended on reeling their dinner in before the end of the afternoon. This was their last evening here. Tomorrow morning they’d be home again. Liam couldn’t remember what day it was. They’d left on Monday, so today had to be Friday. Yes, Friday already. They’d done everything Liam had planned and more. This trip, though spontaneous and not quite as organized as he’d have liked, had been by far the best vacation he’d ever taken. It pained him to leave this place. How he wished they could stay.
