On site, Liam was speaking on the phone with Kieran and he could see Ted was watching him. His old boss stood a few feet away, out of ear shot, commiserating with Netty, but his eyes kept straying to Liam. The noise around the site forced Liam to talk a lot louder than he’d have liked, so he turned his back to Ted and Netty and pressed the phone to his lips. “Tonight?” he almost screamed into it.
