That afternoon, Elena and Evander received a sudden visit from Alice and Dom, who had just arrived from America.
"How have you two been?" Alice asked, giving Elena a brief hug.
Elena returned the embrace. "We're doing well. How was your trip?"
"Everything was fine," Alice replied, her husband nodding in agreement. "Sorry we're a little late. We had a small snag with Dom's transfer permit."
"A problem? Is everything all right now?" Evander asked.
Dom shook his head. "It's nothing. It's all sorted out. I've been reassigned to a major hospital here in Jakarta."
"They were originally going to move him to a hospital in Singapore," Dom added, "but for a few reasons, we requested a transfer to Jakarta instead."
