Alistair had just finished checking the progress on Noah's new room. Elena told him they would arrive in a week, so Alistair requested the work be completed three days before his daughter, son-in-law, and grandson were due to arrive.
"Sir, would you like some hot tea?" Emily appeared, carrying a tray with Alistair's favorite saffron tea and a jar of cookies for his afternoon snack.
"Yes, just put it there," Alistair said, sinking with relief into his favorite chair.
