I walk into Cain’s cabin where Nick has been keeping Cory. Deni and Mina stand in the small kitchen, with Deni hugging her.
She silently cries on his shoulder.
Deni looks at me as I step into the cabin. I look at them trying to figure out if something happened.
I step towards him, but he waves me off, mouthing that he was alright.
That settles me a bit. I turn towards the only room in the cabin. And walk inside to find Nick leaning over Cory with his hand pressed to his chest as if he was keeping him down. Cory’s arms and legs are tied to the bed posts.
“Nick?” I say as something akin to fear swirls in my stomach. Did something happen?
I turn to the door thinking of Deni and Mina out there.
Did Cory try to attack Deni again?
