I come to a stop as Deni’s scent suddenly disappears right at the edge of the forest. It’s like he disappeared into thin air. And my wolf can’t find him no matter how hard he tries. He sniffs the air coming up with nothing.
Fuck… where did he go?
I can’t find him. My wolf sniffs the air over and over. But there is nothing.
Where are you, Deni? Ask even though I know you can’t hear me. A frustrated howl rips out of my wolf's throat filling the air.
My brother and the other alphas howl in response, sensing my distress.
I try to think of where Michaelson might have dragged him too. The cave is already burning - the scent of smoke fills the air. And plumes of smoke can be seen above the trees.
