I can’t sleep. Not with that thing still out there.
I slowly get out of bed, making sure I don’t wake up Deni.

I look down at Deni feeling the terror that had gripped me at the thought of those rogues trying to get to him. My wolf would have fought them to the death to protect his mate, but I don’t think he would have been able to find something he didn’t know or understand.
That creature standing behind the rogues… I have never come across something like that before. And I am not sure if it’s something that a wolf can fight and win against.
Though, I scented it before at the cave I found Cory. I have no doubt that they are the same creatures.
