I woke up with a stiff neck, a sore back, and a surly disposition. To say I had slept badly would be putting it mildly. The sofa was too short and too narrow to adequately house my tall, broad frame, and any movement had the potential to send me tumbling to the carpeted floor.
I checked the time on my phone—just after seven in the morning and went through my messages. There was none from Mini after the last few texts we shared last night.
I knew I had to delete them soon but before doing so I went through the chat with a sleepy grin.
