Ela When I came back, it was a little past midnight. The darkness and silence inside the house engulfed me. Turning on the light, I halted when I noticed Mini's door remained shut. I was instantly stabbed with guilt when I saw the food on the table lying untouched. I made her cry and skip dinner. I wasn't a stranger to the fact that Mini could never go to sleep with an empty stomach right from childhood and it made me want to knock on that door and ask her to eat something. Anyway, I controlled myself from doing so and before I changed my mind, I made a beeline to the storeroom which has become my permanent bedroom.
