My desk sat in its usual pristine state, the digital clock blinked in the corner, my laptop open, untouched emails multiplying by the minute. But my focus was shot. My mind wasn’t here. It was miles away in Willow Creek. More specifically, it was with Amy. This past weekend had shifted something inside me, something permanent. I hadn’t realized just how much I needed that backyard party, the late-night couch conversation, the heated moment shared with Amy. Sleeping in her bed and holding her in my arms.
