As soon as I got back to the city, I went down the rabbit hole as I researched Fredrick and Pauline Smithers. At first, I couldn’t find much on them. I found plenty on Daniel, but I wasn’t all that interested in him. Yes, he was my high-profile investor, but he wasn’t the one who had disowned his child.
